One day my partner told me she "doesn't feel it anymore".
👉 I had no self-awareness, flying blind through life's routine.
I was living in denial for two years thinking she'll change her mind.
👉 Fear and shame prevented me from moving forward.
At 45, I left our house for a little unit at a friend’s backyard.
👉 I felt lonely, sad and scared.
I was drinking, smoking and unemployed.
👉 All I knew was how to escape.
I found a mentor. He showed me some doors to a world of self-development.
👉 I needed new knowledge and new skills, to get different results.
After my second men circle, I was so excited I couldn't sleep.
I felt naturally high. I was energized.
👉 I started being aware of my thoughts, emotions and behaviours.
I started reading books. Writing a journal. Working through exercises. I went to a men’s retreat/weekend. Then kept going to men circles every fortnight for 4 years.
👉 I regained control, clarity and confidence.
I'm now living my best life. I have a beautiful relationship with myself, my daughter and co-parent.
👉 I'm an aware man and always learning how to be better.

Moral of the story? Find yourself again.
👉 If you don't know where to start, find someone who can tell you where to look.
Separation is a wakeup call.
It's telling you that the old you, passed his "used by date".
It's telling you that the old you were running on Windows 98.
It's telling you that it's time for a system upgrade.
